WPZipper updated, now with AWSOM plugins
I just received an email from the administrators of the WPZipper.com website to let me know that they’ve updated their site and also added the AWSOM plugins to their database. WPZipper.com is a website designed to take plugins and themes and add them to a WordPress install archive so that you have a fully set up file set to upload to your web server (instead of having to add all of the stuff yourself individually).
If you happen to need to set up multiple sites with the same configuration it’s a real time saver. Heck, the fact that they have a ton of plugins and themes in one spot makes it a decent search database even if you don’t care about the archive building function.
AWSOM News Announcement 2.0 in development
The AWSOM News Announcement version 2.0.0 plugin for WordPress is now in development. Some of the upcoming features will be: multiple news announcements can be displayed and saved in database to be reused, news announcements can be part of a rotation set for number of displays or timeframe of display, multiple selectable locations for display (sidebar, above posts, on only certain pages, other special areas), and other features. If you have any feature requests or would like to comment on the plugin please leave a comment here or post on the Harknell.com AWSOM forum area.
Important AWSOM Pixgallery News, read this!
It appears that the wordpress.org website repository has been naming the zip file folder for the AWSOM Pixgallery plugin incorrectly leading to activation issues and other problems getting it to work. If you downloaded your version of the plugin from anywhere but here, please make sure that the plugin folder is called “awsompixgallery” in the wp-content/plugins folder. If it is called anything else it will most likely cause issues. To fix this deactivate the plugin, rename the folder to awsompixgallery, then reactivate it. This should correct the issue.
