What is AWSOM.org all About?
AWSOM.org, which stands for “Artist Website: Setup, Options, Markup”, was created to be a central place where artists, webcomic creators, or even regular bloggers could come to find information on creating a powerful but easy to maintain website using the Wordpress content management system. The most common question that people ask me at Conventions or my other appearances is “How Can I set up a Webcomic or Art portfolio website when I don’t know anything about web programming? Well, Awsom.org is here now to help you out.
Programming is difficult, believe me I understand, and what you most want to do is devote your time to artwork or other creative projects. Who has time to do google searches all night to try to figure out a way to set up a website, or what modules or settings you should use. You want something easy and designed with your needs in mind.
The best part of this is you already have access to a community of artists and webcomic creators at my forum site Harknell.com, so that is another resource to utilize. Lastly, if you do need some extra help, I’m available for consulting and custom work for a reasonable fee, information on this will be posted soon.
While it might seem daunting at first to put up and get your own website going, we’ll get you to your goal. Eventually you’ll have the most AWSOM website possible.
