WordPress Permalinks Setup
This link goes to an area of the WordPress Codex that talks about Permalinks, and how to set the different types within WordPress. Permalinks are the links that go directly to a specific article page, and they can be set to many different styles. (if you look at this site you’ll see that my links end in the year, then name of the article) Many major SEO experts like to believe that making your links more human friendly (/my_article_name as opposed to /?p=17) can make a difference in how well your site ranks in search engines. Personally I don’t really see this that much, and most search engines now work perfectly with the default set up in WordPress, but if you’re interested this page explains the way to set things up.
If you were interested in using my structure it’s done by placing the following in the “custom” box in the Options Permalink area: /%year%/%postname%/
Make sure you follow the Codex instructions on how to do your .htaccess file, if not then nothing will work right.
Uh, Don’t do these things on your site
Webpagesthatsuck.com is the granddaddy of pointing out what absolutely sucks about bad web site design. This site isn’t really directly WordPress oriented, but a good place to go to see what you definitely shouldn’t do with your website. Plus it’s funny as hell.

ComicPress theme for WordPress Updated
ComicPress is a WordPress theme specifically designed for webcomics. It just recently was updated and split into 2 branches: Classic and Blogging. Classic is designed to replicate the Megatokyo look, with a comic at the top of the page and a news post at the bottom and is very simple to set up and get started. The blogging version has quite a few new options and is a bit more complicated, has multiple posts per page and support for different types of image files. In either case I definitely suggest checking them out if you want to get a web comic up quickly, and a side note: Awsom Pixgallery supports both themes with special news post link support between the archive and the posts page
WordPress SEO list and tips
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization; a concept that states that maximizing your website to be scanned by search engines will maximize it’s ability to gain readers and traffic. It makes a bit of sense to be aware of how Search Engines see your site, though I don’t suggest you go crazy worrying about it for too much time. This site claims to have the ultimate list of tips on how to optimize WordPress for SEO, I’d suggest looking it over to at least get some basic ideas on how this works.
