Update to AWSOM News Announcement soon
I am finishing testing of a new update to the WordPress AWSOM News Announcement plugin. Based on user feedback the new version 1.3.0 will now feature the ability to run PHP code directly from the announcement block. This feature will allow all kinds of PHP theme tags to be placed in the Announcement block to let various video/audio players and any other WordPress Plugin features that require a PHP based theme tag to operate. This feature can be turned on or off by the admin in the News Announcement manage page.
Expect the new version to be available within the next day or so.
List of Essential Plugins (Including some of Mine)
DazzlinDonna has a good listing of “Essential plugins” for WordPress that she uses for her site and for sites she develops for others. While my News Announcement plugin is not on her “Essential” list, it is in the “Optional” listing that she uses when she needs that functionality for a site, which makes me proud. It’s always good to see what other major bloggers are using on their sites, you never know what you can find.
Behind the Scenes Work
Sorry for the lack of updates recently, I’ve been working on a lot of stuff behind the scenes at all of the Onezumi Studios websites. I plan on being back into the daily updates starting Monday.
AWSOM Ideas linking now available
Hi everyone, I wanted to point out to anyone who is using one of the AWSOM.org WordPress plugins that I’ve started up a linking policy to place people in the “People Using AWSOM Ideas” box on the site. It’s pretty easy to get your site added and the details are on this page.
AWSOM News Announcement Plugin updated to 1.2.4
The AWSOM News Announcement plugin has been updated to version 1.2.4. This is a non-critical bug fix release to correct a typo that adds an incorrect element (a “}” symbol) into the header of the index page. You can get the new version of the plugin from the News Announcement product page.
