The AWSOM News Announcement version 2.0.0 plugin for WordPress is now in development. Some of the upcoming features will be: multiple news announcements can be displayed and saved in database to be reused, news announcements can be part of a rotation set for number of displays or timeframe of display, multiple selectable locations for display (sidebar, above posts, on only certain pages, other special areas), and other features.
