Hi everyone, I’m proud to announce the newest version of the AWSOM Pixgallery plugin for WordPress. Version 4.4.0 is now available for download from it’s product page. This new version adds many new features and usability upgrades. Images now can have custom names along with initial tag support (for inputting them, search will be enabled soon). You can now define Galleries and have the plugin generate the proper code to input into your page/post to have the gallery appear. You can have the plugin create a default cache folder as well as a default gallery folder. And many other bug fixes and improvements to the way the galleries look and function.
One Important thing though for upgraders: The Image Caption admin area has moved. It is now under the “Write” admin menu. This is a result of the way WordPress is designed which only allows one plugin submenu under an existing Admin menu area. “Manage” now contains the Galleries management area. Also, Image Captions now require that you input the actual name of the image file including it’s extension. After upgrading you will need to go to the “Write” admin area tab and open the Pixgallery Image Caption section and add the image name to all of your existing captions (sorry, was a needed change for future development) before they will display their captions in your galleries as normal.
This new version has many features and usability improvements based on your feedback. I hope things are moving toward making AWSOM Pixgallery the easiest and best solution to placing an Image gallery on your site. Please let me know what you think of the new version either by commenting here or by posting on my support forum at www.harknell.com. Thanks.
